Bybit Releases API of Suspicious Wallet on “Black List” as Part of Recovery Bounty Program
Bybit Launches API and Security Alliance to Combat $1.46 Billion Hack
Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has launched a new API to update a blacklist of suspicious wallet addresses linked to its recent $1.46 billion hack. The initiative aims to assist security experts in tracking and recovering the stolen funds.
The blacklist, compiled through collaboration with top blockchain investigators and cybersecurity firms, will be shared with verified partners via an automated interface. Bybit has received thousands of industry tips within just three days of the hack, demonstrating a united front against cybercrime.
To further strengthen security efforts, Bybit has announced a 10% bounty for successful interceptions of stolen assets. Additionally, the exchange is developing a HackBounty platform to enhance the industry’s ability to track and recover hacked funds.
Bybit has partnered with leading security firms such as Mandiant, Chainalysis, Elliptic, SlowMist, and TRM, as well as major exchanges like Binance and Coinbase, to disrupt the hackers' ability to launder stolen assets across decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms.
CEO Ben Zhou emphasized the industry's solidarity in fighting cyber threats, stating that this could be a transformative moment for crypto security. Bybit’s ongoing efforts aim to set new standards in safeguarding digital assets and preventing future attacks.
